Mr. Parsons founded AFI in 1986 with a clear vision of filling an enormous gap in the saturated security industry. To do this, he created a "premium" investigative and security service product to serve corporate clients in need. From its modest beginnings in the Greater Toronto area, Mr. Parsons guided the business strongly forward with unwavering adherence to superior quality and industry best practices. Today, under his continued leadership, AFI enjoys its status as North America’s largest provider of Crisis Management & Response Services.
A well-recognized corporate leader, Mr. Parsons firmly believes that businesses should give back to the community that supports them. As such, he keeps active in a wide variety of associations and charities, and serves as a mentor to several other business professionals heading up strategic organizations, Mr. Parsons is also a founding member of the Mayor's Round Table in Milton, Ontario, an organization that focuses on supporting people and businesses in the community. |

Peter Martin, President |

Peter Martin is the President of AFI International Group Inc and International Management Assistance Corporation (IMAC) both leading North American providers of Crisis Management and Risk Mitigation Services.
Mr. Martin is an international security practitioner having worked extensively in both the North American & European markets. Beyond his experience in the international security industry, he is a recognized subject matter expert in crisis management, threat / risk assessment and personal & physical security measures.
As a frequent keynote speaker and lecturer on a variety of security related issues, Mr. Martin advocates the importance of detailed risk analysis and proactive measures to enhance corporate and personal safety.
In addition to his work at AFI International and IMAC, Mr. Martin previously held partial load Professor status teaching Advanced Security Management & Security Law in a leading Canadian College’s 3rd Year Graduate Studies Program.
He maintains active memberships in: Association of Threat Assessment Professionals, Overseas Security Advisory Council, Canadian & American Societies for Industrial Security, Association of Counter-Terrorism and Security Professionals and the International Tactical Training Officers Association.

Gene McLean, Board of Directors |

Prior to joining AFI, Mr. McLean was the former vice president & chief security officer for TELUS Communications. There, his mandate was to protect personnel and physical assets, secure the network, provide for the protection of critical data and intellectual property, and ensure regulatory compliance relating to the release of information. In addition to his VP position, Mr. McLean was chair of the TELUS Information Security steering committee (directly involved in the setting of the company’s national security policy and procedures).
Prior to TELUS, Mr. McLean had an illustrious career as a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officer. His more than 25 years of service included a number of domestic and international investigative operations. He also took on the role of RCMP liaison officer in Europe, Scandinavia and the Middle East. In 2006 he was honoured and recognized as the Security Director of the Year award winner.

Mr. Taljaard brings more than 20 years of international experience in law enforcement, private security and investigation to his current position. Prior to joining AFI, he held many high level security roles both in Canada and abroad, including Operational Air Marshall for an international airline, Police hostage negotiator and Detective Inspector in Internal Affairs with the South African police service.
In addition to his role at AFI, Mr. Taljaard also teaches in The Police and Public Safety Institute at Algonquin College in Ottawa. With a strong focus on client relations and an excellent track record working on behalf of human resources professionals, insurance adjustors, security professionals and labour & civil litigation lawyers, he is poised to produce outstanding results within the private sector.

Mr. Rovers has been actively involved in the fields of security, investigations and labour dispute for nearly two decades. With a background in manufacturing engineering, he has assisted many Fortune 500 companies in the development of contingency plans regarding security, transportation and temporary staffing.
He has worked extensively throughout Canada and the United States on investigation of theft and narcotic issues in the workplace.
Mr. Rovers joined AFI in 2004 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. A former executive of HRPLD (Human Resource Professionals of London) and he is a member of ASIS, the American Society of Industrial Security. Mr. Rovers is in the process of completing his CHRP (Canadian Human Resources Professional) accreditation.

Stephen Anderson, Vice President |

Mr. Anderson has developed a unique knowledge base in the area of security-related management. Prior to joining AFI in 2001, he worked as a security advisor for a major building developer, coordinating security and public access at high-rise buildings in Toronto. While managing an airport hotel staff of 30, Mr. Anderson liaised with federal authorities on many security-related investigations. He had full airport security clearance with the RCMP in this role.
A CDT® Tactical Master Instructor, Mr. Anderson also holds a black belt in Taekwon-do. He was the project manager for the construction and design of AFI's company headquarters in Milton, Ontario, which is equipped with state-of-the-art security. He is involved in the technology monitoring of internal and external threats for corporations via Internet. He is a member of ASIS, the American Society of Industrial Security, IAAI, the International Association of Arson Investigators, HRPAO, the Human Resource Professionals Association of Ontario, its Manitoba counterpart HRMAM and APRC, the Association of Professional Recruiters of Canada.
